Cornish Coastal Wedding Launcells Barton

Coastal Wedding Styling Launcells Barton, Cornwall

We started working with Merrow and Ed just six weeks before their wedding at Launcells Barton in Cornwall. Merrow had a clear vision of the elegant yet relaxed vibe she wanted for the venue but needed a little help pulling it all together. Being based in London made it tricky to find local suppliers, so we stepped in and connected her with some of our trusted vendors to bring her vision to life.

Launcells Barton a stuuning Coastal wedding venue

Tucked away in the Cornish countryside, Launcells Barton is a historic venue with loads of character and charm. For any wedding stylist, it's a dream spot because of how versatile it is. It’s the perfect mix of old-world charm and modern touches. The barn is bright and airy with amazing high ceilings, making it ideal for a relaxed yet elegant setup that pairs perfectly with the rustic details we love. With both indoor and outdoor ceremony options, the styling can be adjusted to suit the weather and vibe. If you're looking for coastal charm with a laid-back, sophisticated feel, Launcells Barton is the perfect venue.

Relaxed Yet Coastal Tablescape

At Borrow The Moon we are so lucky to get to work at some stunning coastal wedding venues accross Devon and Cornwall. Lots of couples want to draw insperation from the coast but without if feeling cheesy or overdone. We suggest using natural elements in a way that still feels elegant. For this tablescape we used nuetral cheesecloth runners to add texture, seagrass placemats, and knotted linen napkins. Bleujen Florist created a loose folliage runner with bud bases nestled amongst. We finished of the table with tealights for ambience and scattered shells to give a nod to the coastal theme.

Handwritten Pebbles: A Personal Touch from Cornish Beaches

From our very first call, Merrow was excited about the idea of using handwritten pebbles at each place setting. We were all in on this personal touch, so we took the time to collect pebbles from various beaches in Cornwall and handwrote over 190 guests' names in calligraphy.

The effort definitely paid off! The pebbles looked beautiful on the placemats and became cherished keepsakes for the guests. We love incorporating personal details into our wedding styling, and it’s these small touches that truly make a celebration unique to you as a couple.

The Finishing Touches

Two large floral chandeliers filled with foliage and white flowers hung from the rustic beams of the barn, making the most of the high ceilings and creating a real wow factor as guests entered. These chandeliers tied in beautifully with the foliage runners on the tables, bringing the whole look together. With fairy lights draped from the ceiling, the space had a soft, romantic glow,.

The finishing touches, like a coastal-inspired cake by Peboryon, minimalist stationery, and cylinder vases with candles, added to the clean, modern feel.

Working with Merrow and Ed to bring their coastal wedding vision to life was such a joy. From the start, we connected on their style, and it was a pleasure to help them achieve their dream look, even with tight timelines! As Merrow said, "Borrow The Moon absolutely got my vision and dream for the style of our wedding... and ran with it in the best possible way."
